From 2015-2019, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that an average of 109 employees died each year due to workplace fires or explosions. To prevent these fatal accidents, many workplaces employ professionals who are assigned to deal with fire safety, protection and emergency plans.

These professionals, including fire marshals, risk managers, fire officers, safety managers and fire protection consultants, can gain the designation of fire prevention specialists and boost their credentials by enrolling in the Fire Prevention Specialist course from The National Association of Safety Professionals (NASP).
