Forklifts are one of the most common and essential pieces of industrial equipment, especially in warehouse and manufacturing settings. These vehicles are used to transfer materials, products and equipment throughout facilities with ease. Like any other machinery, though, forklifts must be operated safely to prevent injury to personnel and damage to inventory or property.

Enroll in The National Association of Safety Professionals (NASP) Forklift Safety Specialist course to learn more about forklift operating safety and standards from OSHA and ANSI.

FSS Course Overview

Our forklift safety training program gives students a comprehensive understanding of workplace precautions and operations with this machinery to maximize employee safety. This course covers forklift safety from start to finish, including information about the mechanisms of the equipment and proper training to avoid accidents in your facilities.

Upon completion of our forklift driver safety training course, students should:

  • Be able to identify different types and classes of forklifts.
  • Understand forklift components like safety features and basic controls.
  • Know and be able to apply forklift training requirements, including OSHA and ANSI standards.
  • Identify hazardous locations and understand how they affect forklift operation.

This course will also take an in-depth look at the latest regulations for forklift safety enforced by OSHA and ANSI, including advancements in ANSI B56.1-2018 consensus standards.

Depending on your existing knowledge of workplace safety, the FSS course will take approximately 13 hours to complete.
