OSHA Recordkeeping Specialist Course Description

The OSHA Recordkeeping Specialist (ORS) course offers an introduction to workplace safety through concepts ranging from changes in updated recordkeeping regulations to employee privacy rights. This is an independent study course that teaches how to use the 300, 300A and 301 forms and create workplace safety programs.

This course will cover:

  • Organization, purpose and scope
  • Recording criteria

Depending on your knowledge of workplace safety, the time it will take to complete the course can vary. While the average time is about 13 hours, students will have up to six months to finish it.

CEUs will be reflected on the Certificate upon successful completion of the course and passing the exam. Partial credit or adjusted CEUs will not be awarded for individuals who do not successfully meet the criteria for achievement of CEUs.

  • Online Exams

    The student will take a comprehensive online exam at the end of the course. You must score 80% to receive a certificate. You have two opportunities to pass the exam.

  • Recertification

    A refresher course and exam will be required every three (3) years. The cost of this recertification is $150.
