CSS Course Overview

NASP offers comprehensive safety training for confined space entry to help students understand the risks. This course covers various elements that may require a permit and focuses on identifying and mitigating any potential hazards in a confined workspace.

The confined space entry (CSE) training delves into creating and implementing a safety program on your worksite, including roles, responsibilities and required confined space safety training for CSE personnel. Other topics covered include:

The three elements defining confined spaces.
How to assess hazardous atmospheres and other environmental hazards.
Instructions for using monitoring equipment.
Supervisor responsibilities and entrant and attendant roles.
The proper use of personal protective equipment.

This course takes an estimated 13 hours, depending on your existing background knowledge of confined space safety procedures.

Continuing Education Units

(1.30) CEUs are offered for this course. As an IACET Accredited Provider, NASP offers IACET CEUs for its learning events that comply with the ANSI/IACET Continuing Education and Training Standard. CEUs will be reflected on the Certificate upon successful completion of the course and passing the exam. Partial credit or adjusted CEUs will not be awarded for individuals who do not successfully meet the criteria for achievement of CEUs.
Online Exams

The student will take a comprehensive online exam at the end of the course. You must score 80% to receive a certificate. You have two opportunities to pass the exam.
Recertification

A refresher course and exam will be required every three (3) years. The cost of this recertification is $150.
