Charlie Abbey, MSA
Corporate HS&E Leader, Klockner Pentaplast, Gordonsville, VA
Mr. Charlie Abbey is currently serving as the Corporate HS&E Leader for Klockner Pentaplast of America. In his illustrious 28 year career with Klockner, Charlie worked his way up from Assistant Personnel Manager and Safety Trainer, to Facility HS&E Leader, on to Regional Corporate HS&E Leader and finally, to the position he presently holds. In that time, Charlie helped create a corporate safety culture with emphasis on a top-down safety management approach, corporate strategic and tactical safety initiatives, employee empowerment and engagement and implementation of Global corporate protocol while maintaining facility flexibility based on the primary hazards found at each site. During his tenure, Klockner saw an 87% decrease in recordable workplace injuries.
Prior to his time with Klockner, Charlie was in the Marine Corps for 20 years where he served as a Jump Master, a Repel Master, a Dive Officer, a Small Arms Safety Instructor and Safety Inspection & Certification Officer. Charlie has attended numerous professional certification courses and is an instructor for Workplace Violence and a Master Safety Administrator and lifetime member of NASP/IASP.
Rick Hunter, LSP, CSC
Director of Loss Control and Safety, Alabama Risk Management, LLC, Alexander City, AL
Mr. Rick Hunter has over 35 years in the safety field. Rick is currently the Owner of Alabama Risk Management & Co-owner of Safetyinfo.com. as well as the COO for SafetyInfo.com, a comprehensive online resource company for a variety of safety related needs. He was previously the Director of Loss Control and Safety from 2001 – 2014 for a large 474 company self-insured fund. During his tenure at the Alabama Trucking Association Workers Compensation Fund, he was responsible for writing compliance programs, training and education and loss control and safety inspections for Fund Members (DOT and OSHA). In that time, he achieved a reduced funds loss ratio from 108% in 2001 to 44.6% in 2007 and in 2009 had the lowest claim count in the past five years.
In addition, he directed three loss control engineers daily, managed an annual loss control budget, a 1.3 million dollar Certified Safety Program (incentive program) as well as a as well as a 21 million dollar claims budget. Prior to this, he was the Senior Loss Control Engineer for Southern Risk Services / McGriff, Seibel’s and Williams out of Birmingham, Alabama and began his safety career as the Safety, Health and Compliance engineer for Russell Corporation, Alexander City, Alabama which included 9 VPP STAR plants.
Anna Pelletier, CSM
National Corporate EHS Coordinator, Liberty Construction, Boston, MA
Ms. Anna Pelletier, a native of Prescott, AZ, commutes between Fairfield, CT and Boston, MA where she holds the position of National Corporate Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator at Liberty Construction (a division of Suffolk Construction). Anna graduated Summa Cum Laude at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT and is furthering her studies in Occupational Safety and Health at Columbia Southern University.
Possessing enormous energy, passion, personal commitment, and advanced credentialling within the Health and Safety profession, in combination with her highly regarded public speaking capabilities, she has rapidly elevated her reputation industry-wide. An experienced Certified EMT, she is an active member of the Medical Reserve Corps and CERT teams, and a First Aid and CPR Instructor providing training and consulting in Health and Safety, independently through her own company, First Aid & Safety Training (www.fastercpr.net). Anna is also a member of NASP/IASP and holds numerous certifications within our organization.
Wagdi Fouad Seffain, LSP
Managing Director of Environmental Health & Safety Academy – Cairo, Egypt and Environmental Health & Safety training Centre – Dubai, UAE
Mr. Wagdi Seffain has been a NASP/IASP Franchisee in NE Africa and the Middle East since 2011. He has founded two organizations (one in Cairo, Egypt and the other in Dubai, UAE) solely dedicated to training on OHS regulations, and has taught thousands of students on a variety of safety courses. These include the prestigious NASP/IASP Certified Safety Manager Course, NASP/IASP Advanced Safety & Health Diploma as well as a variety of Oil and Gas related Specialist Courses. In addition, he is a Certified Trainer from the Scaffold Training Institute, Certified Trainer from NTS (National Training Services) in the UK, a Certified Trainer from the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) in the US, a Certified Safety Trainer from IOSH-UK and an Authorized Safety Trainer at the Engineering & Science Department from the American University in Cairo, Egypt.
Wagdi’s distinguished career in the safety field has spanned over 35 years for a variety of educational groups, manufacturing firms and the oil and gas industry. His background includes over 20 years as the EHS Director for AUC and prior to that, he was the EHS Coordinator for Bristol Myers Squibb Egypt. He began his work in safety as the Fire & Safety Supervisor of Kuwait National Petroleum Company in the 1980s and early 90s. As well as a member of NASP/IASP, Wagdi is a voting member of the NFPA, and a member of ASSE and IOSH-UK.
Kyle E Weygandt, MS, LSP
Director of Member Safety for AMP Partners, Canton, OH
Mr. Kyle Weygandt presently serves as the Director of Member Safety for American Municipal Power (AMP) which serves member communities in six states. With his 28 years in safety, Kyle shares safety and human relation programs, emotional intelligence application in safety, as well as behavior based safety programs to companies and corporations. Kyle is licensed through the State of Ohio Department of Education in Industrial & Engineering Technologies, is an OSHA 500 Outreach instructor and has been teaching First Aid, CPR/AED, and Trauma Response since 1978.
Kyle has a Masters Degree in Psychology and has applied his knowledge of this field into behavior based leading indicators training. He is forensically certified throught the National Association of Forensic Counselors, and certified in accident re-construction through The State of Ohio. Kyle serves (part time) as Captain at the Magnolia Police Department and is a part time adjunct professor at 3 colleges – Ohio State University-Alber Enterprise Center, Stark State College, and Akron University. In addition, he is a Certified FBI, Homeland Security, and ALICE Active Shooter/Terrorist Response Trainer.
